Mills Pond Park is one of the few remaining bodies of freshwater located East of I-95 on the South Florida coast. The lake is safe and organized through our affiliation with USA Water Ski. The Gold Coast Ski Club takes pride in their commitment to operate a structured club and promote safety in watersports activities. If you would like to contribute please contact us. We are a non-profit corporation registered with Sunbiz.org., and the State of Florida. All of our funds go towards our agreement with the City of Ft. Lauderdale to use the lake. We pay insurances, and maintain a slalom course for our members.
Fort Lauderdale water sports enthusiasts have seen the number of areas it can enjoy the sport continuously shrink over the last twenty years. Currently, the only places to waterski in Fort Lauderdale other than Mills Pond are located on Middle River north of Sunrise Boulevard and Sunrise Key. These public areas can get very congested, rough, or polluted. They are salt water areas.
The Gold Coast Ski Club has had an agreement with the City for almost 40 years and has always worked hard to maintain Mills Pond as a clean and safe place to promote the sports of waterskiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Our goal is to keep Mills Pond available in perpetuity for future generations to use!
